Oral Pres- Self Assessment and Commentary

My Oral presentation was overall adequate, however it still needed some work. I had mentioned good information pertaining to both historical information and factual evidence, while relating this to the storyline of the film and how it was produced. However this also had serves as a problem in my oral presentation as well. I had focused on aspects that weren’t as important as others, since it only somewhat pertained to my extract, such as the historical background. My instructor mentioned that I had talked about too much of this background and this caused me not enough time to converse about the actual extract. Even though the background information was important, it was more important that I had instead focused on my extract. I also should have had more developed and a more extensive amount of analysis rather than background information. In addition, I should have discussed more about the cinematography and the edit in more detail, I had somewhat glanced over theses elements in the film. I had mentioned a little about color grading and how this aids the film in the way the scenes are portrayed and how it affects the audience. However, this again was only a “glance over” and needed more analysis. Furthermore I also conveyed a little about cinematography,  for this aspect I did not use as much film language as I should. My instructor mentioned that I should've mentioned the simple aspects of cinematography such as “classic cutting” and cutting to continuity. These were simple facts that I had overlooked and did not mention.   Furthermore,I briefly stated certain elements of cinematography, but this was still glanced over compared to the the other factors I mentioned in my film presentation. In conclusion my presentation needed more detail on the more significant elements of the film, I should have chose widely on what I spent my time talking about.
