  1. I feel like you did a good job in incorporating research into the doc. For instance, when referring to the film, Sassy Pants, you stated the reason for the main character’s choice for the only grey clothing within the completely pink wardrobe was to highlight a need for change. You enhanced your claim by mentioning that a film journalist from NPR believes that a pink closet is a sign of oppression and to choose the only grey piece of clothing highlights a sense of rebellion within the character. This was a great example to use for your first point of emphasis, illustrating how the film is in the Coming to Age genre. I like the flow you have in your structure, the use of title pages is beneficial in elucidating the change to another point of emphasis. Although, I believe your last two points of emphasis were shorter than your first one of genre. I feel that you were rushed in what you were saying towards the end to meet the time limit. An even pace throughout the entire project would be better for next time. A suggestion for this, is to practice the voice over and listen to it to make sure you are not speaking too fast or too slow. Overall, good job!

  2. This was definitely a solid comparison and analysis. I like how you compared contrasted a classic coming of age story with a parody of a coming of age story, showing the fallacies of traditional thinking. You provided good evidence, including the symbolism of the grey sweatshirt representing a type of rebellion. You chose an excellent scene to play in the second film "Girl in Training", in which the protagonist herself was the one to give us an outline of the film and give us a general sense of what it was about. My only criticism is that towards the end of the project it felt rushed. It didn't have as much valid insight as the first part of your review because you went through it too quickly I recommend that you figure out how long everything will take beforehand. However, overall I really enjoyed your project and felt that it shed light on the shortcomings of classical coming of age films.
